"We clear land for different types of applications in Louisiana and we've had a lot of experience with mulchers. At one point last year, I ran across FAE and it looked like a much better built and much stronger head than many others that I have seen and tried before. After talking to the FAE folks, I felt like they are also behind their product and decided to buy one. We mulch underbrush of an average of 4'' and we occasionally run into bigger stuff up to 8'' diameter. We have a mix of vegetation- from pine trees to oak trees to vines; with FAE head we can clear up to 3 acres per day of thick vegetation. Here in Louisiana the vegetation grows fast and wild due to the humidity and the heat. We were looking for a head that would outperform the other heads that we used in the past. The FAE head goes through the vegetation easily and powerfully. It leaves a small final product, just like we want. Depending on the job site, howeover, we may want to have different size product so we just work with the front mulching door in the desired position to btain the size wanted. Our model, the FAE UML/SSL 150 VT has three sets of counter blades inside the shell and they are made to break down material even finer than what we thought. The FAE technician explained to us that those counter blades are made of Hardox material and as a matter of fact they are hard and robust and they last for yaers. He also said that the 'FAE smooth system' was designed in such way that only one tooth at the time would touch the material and/or the ground, getting a better cut and reducing the hydraulic stress on the carrier also reducing horse power needed as well as our fuel consumption. My FAE UML/SSL comes with a variable torque motor (110 cc variable torque). This type of motor increases the torque on the rotor and gives us a very fast recovery time when stalls out but with the variable torque we very seldom stall at all. When I go through bigger material, the variable torque motor will reduce the speed of the rotor and it will increase the torque allowing the head to keep working without stalling if used in the correct way. I am tremendously impressed with the FAE head. I am also impressed about how easy it is to mantain and service. Everything is very accessible without any major work to open and close the covers. Every time I finish using the head, I will check the condition of the teeth and rotor. I will make sure that all teeth are in place and tight. I can tell that there was a lot of engineering and also practical experience behind this rotor, as the teeth are bolted from the back so the bolts are protected from wear and tear and when the teeth need to be replaced the bolts come off very easily. When I first heard that FAE offers a 2 years warranty I was a little surprised because I know that these machines work in a very tough environment. I understand very well now that these heads are very strong and very reliable and FAE feels very confident in their proven product to offer 2 years warranty. The FAE heads have proven to be very reliable and operator friendly. We celar land full time and we can not afford to have down time. As far as I can see, FAE always selects highly qualified dealers whom can represent and support their equipment. One head I own is an FAE DML/HY 100 mounted on my mini excavator. This head has a cutting capacity up to 5'' material and as far as I know it is the smallest and lightest fixed tooth excavator mulching head on the market. It couples perfectly with my 6T excavator. It weights 1,080 Lbs and it requires a flow between 13 - 34 GPM and pressure between 2600 - 3600 PSI. Currently, we are now on a job opening up a path to build a road in a subdivision and we are ahead of the schedule. I have been running the FAE/PrimeTech PT-350 for two and a half years now. I have accomplished more with this machine than I ever have in my prior years with three other similar category machines. I purchased and used several other Prime Movers before and had very mediocre production and a lot of problems. With the PT-350 I can get the highest production I have ever had. I have never had a problem. Also, the comfort that this machine offers is not comparable to any other machine on the market. Furthermore, I work in every type of condition all over the Southeast and this machine always does an excellent job. FAE also offers several teeth options -standard double carbide, rock, viper heavy duty- so I can change teeth according to the job and situation.

FAE and their dealers are also always there when I need them to service the machine. My experience with the FAE/Primetech PT-350 has always been excellent.

Vinyard Grower California (PMM/SSL 150)
I tried the PMM/SSL 150 standard flow mulcher on my skid steer loader and  so far it is the best mulcher I have ever used on my applications. I mulch small branches and grass in the vineyards and I do some clearing around my properties. This FAE unit is just what I was looking for -- the final product is as fine as I could have asked for and the head is very well built, a very good quality product. The design and strength of this attachment allows me to get the job done in a shorter period of time than the current attachment I have been using; it is really a superior product. After I tried it, the FAE representative told me they offer 24 month warranty on all their attachments. I had no doubt that this attachment was the correct choice for my needs.

I have operated several mulching attachments and dedicated units, but nothing so far has compared to the PT-200. Nothing cuts like this PT-200, and the recovery time on the FAE mulching attachment is the quickest I have seen yet.
We work in Manzanita trees out here; it is a very hard wood. The mulchers I have used in the past have had a lot of trouble getting rid of the material. This unit is really unique; it mulches the Manzanitas with minimal effort. Furthermore, we work in very extreme conditions here, slopes in certain areas can be at a 40% grade and the PT-200 is the most stable machine I have used in these conditions. This machine is perfectly balanced with a wide track option and a mulching attachment to match the width of the machine - this unit makes me [the operator] feel very safe when working in these conditions. We also have a lot of big granite rocks (sometimes as big as a basket ball or larger). The FAE head handles these rocks with no problem and I have yet to replace a tooth. The FAE representative suggested using the Rock Tooth they offer in these conditions; this is something that I will certainly use when it comes time to replace the existing set of teeth.
